Nestled in the beautiful Coast Mountains of southwest BC, the UBC Dairy Education and Research Centre is a world-class research facility and a working dairy farm. This is the third consecutive year the Centre has been included on the 25-km self-guided cycle tour. Visitors learned about the Centre’s internationally renowned research and education programs and BC’s dairy industry.
“Our students gained extremely valuable experience explaining the scientific basis and applied relevance of their research in animal welfare, animal reproduction and nutrient recovery to all sectors of the public,” said Jim Thompson, Director, the UBC Dairy Education and Research Centre.
The tour included a dozen local stops, such as the Holberg Dairy Farm and the Agassiz Harrison Museum.
