UBC’s Applied Biology Program interviewing three candidates for new faculty position

UBC’s Applied Biology Program is interviewing three applicants for a new faculty position.  The successful applicant is expected to work with dairy cattle in the Centre’s dairy cattle research facilities in Agassiz.


The first applicant, Dr. José Denis-Robichaud, will present a research seminar titled “Using new technologies for achieving health and reproduction goals on dairy farms” at 12:45 pm on Monday, February 6th . This seminar will be held in the BMO Conference Room in Agassiz.


The remaining two research seminars are as follows:

Today’s seminar has to be rescheduled because of the snow storm on the East Coast interfering with flights. We will let everyone know as soon as it is rescheduled. 

The seminar by Miriam Garcia, scheduled for Thursday, Feb 16th will go ahead as advertised.

Tuesday, February 14th at 12:45 – BMO Conference Room, Agassiz—to be rescheduled
Vinicius Machado will present a research seminar titled “Understanding and managing metritis in dairy cows”.

Thursday, February 16th at 12:45 – BMO Conference Room, Agassiz
Miriam Garcia will present a research seminar titled “Dairy Cattle Research: Nutrition and Immunity”
