Community Outreach

Community outreach and technology transfer is at the core of the Dairy Centre’s mandate. Located in the Fraser Valley, in the heart of BC’s dairy industry, the Centre has developed strong relationships with the local community and beyond.

The Dairy Centre offers many opportunities for community involvement including:

  • Educational tours for school classes
  • Tour and provide information sessions for Canadian and international industry and government delegations
  • Provide work experience for Canadian and international students and professionals
  • Host dairy industry short courses and information sessions
  • Production of educational materials with the BC Milk Producers Association, BC Dairy Foundation and others
  • Publication and distribution of Research Reports outlining recent applied research findings at the Centre
  • Host BC Milk Producers Association’s Dairy Production Apprenticeship Program (DairyPro)
  • Deliver workshops and seminars to the dairy industry
  • Provide conference room for dairy and other agricultural industry programs
  • Assist delivery of University of the Fraser Valley and Thompson Rivers University s animal health and animal production classes
