Jim Thompson will provide an overview of the Dairy Education and Research Centre in Agassiz, BC and discuss relevant results of a recent study that developed the BC On-Farm Anaerobic Benchmark. Victor Lo will introduce the technology his group is developing for the recovery of phosphorus in the form of slow-release fertilizer, called struvite, from dairy cattle manure. Nelson Dinn will discuss recent work on the recovery and reuse of sand for bedding dairy cattle.
